The Economics, Business and Management foundation programme COMPLEX is created by UJOP Charles University experts in cooperation with university faculties. It is designed for you if you want to study economics and management, business, banking, finance, accounting, international relations, tourism, marketing, administration and related fields in Czech language at Czech universities.

The programme combines intensive Czech language preparation, academic subject tuition, and full support to help you successfully enter Czech higher education and adapt to life in Czechia.

What will you study?

To study economics, business and management for free at Czech universities, you need strong Czech language skills and a solid academic background. The programme therefore combines intensive language preparation with key academic subjects.

 

All subjects of this Economics, Business and Management foundation programme COMPLEX are taught in Czech. At first, teachers use language with basic vocabulary and grammar. As students’ Czech proficiency improves, the language of instruction becomes more complex and increasingly aligned with university-level expectations.

Do you meet the entry requirements?

• Completed high school before the start of the Economics, Business and Management foundation programme. (You may apply before graduation.)

• No Czech language level is required.
• No English language level is required.
• Have a solid high-school foundation in relevant academic subjects in your native language. (See the list of topics here)

• You must turn at least 17 years old by 31 December of the year you start your studies at UJOP Charles University. (Younger candidates are assessed individually.)

Czech language outcomes

At the end of the programme, you will take a Czech language exam. Successful students will receive a certificate recognised by more than 80 faculties.

The Economics, Business and Management foundation programme COMPLEX is designed to help you reach B1 or B2 in Czech. Students' progress depends mainly on their motivation, regular study, language aptitude, and previous experience with learning foreign languages.

Study Economics, Business and Management foundation programme COMPLEX in Poděbrady, near Prague. The UJOP Poděbrady study centre is located in the charming spa town of Poděbrady on the River Elbe.

Classes take place directly in Poděbrady Castle, a historic landmark dating back to the 12th century situated in the town centre. Student accommodation is available within a 10-minute walk from the castle.

Poděbrady offers a calm, safe, and student-friendly environment while maintaining excellent connections to Prague. Direct trains run regularly, with a travel time of approximately 50 minutes.
