On Friday, 8 November, students of the humanities and art preparatory courses of ÚJOP took a traditional all-day field trip to Pilsen, which included a visit to two universities and the Pilsner brewery.

On Thursday, 31 October 2024, a traditional Halloween activity organized by the ÚJOP Centre for foreign students took place at the castle in Poděbrady. Over twenty pumpkins were waiting for the students on the garden terrace of the castle ready for shaping. Around forty foreigners from many countries engaged in the pumpkin carving. Some arrived in scary costumes, others decorated their faces with themed make-up.

On Thursday 24 October, the annual event called Find Your Czech! took place in the UJOP Voršilská centre in Prague. Its aim was to help foreigners learning Czech to make contacts with Czechs who want to learn or practice a foreign language with a native speaker in return.

On Friday, 18 October 2024, a scholarship programme for Ukrainian students, under the title Language as a Gateway, was opened at the Poděbrady castle with the support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Almost fifty students were greeted by Barbora Štindlová, deputy director for studies. She mentioned, among other things, that this is the second year of this programme.

In mid-October, representatives of the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies of Charles University visited Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, where they met with the Ambassador and Consul of the Czech Republic. Together they discussed their experience with the process of issuing visas to prospective students for the Czech Republic and also talked about the possibilities of how UJOP could help make the visa processes smoother. The Embassy in Baku also confirmed that there is a growing interest among Azerbaijanis in studying in the Czech Republic.

Kazakhstan is one of the countries where a large number of students who choose the Czech Republic as their study destination come from. That is why representatives of the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies of Charles University (UJOP UK) regularly visit the country and help the local applicants in choosing the most suitable study programme in the Czech Republic.

A panel exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies joining Charles University was opened to the public on 22 October 2024 in the reception area of Karolinum, the historic seat of Charles University.

At 6 pm on Wednesday, 9 October 2024, an interesting event called Check it in Czech feat. Czechs! took place at Kampus Hybernská. It was held as part of the regular International Wednesdays organised by student ambassadors and societies across all faculties of Charles University. The second International Wednesday in October was organised by ÚJOP UK. On this occasion, the biggest enthusiasts for Czech culture and language gathered in Kampus and enjoyed the programme prepared by two teachers of the Institute.

Hundreds of students from all over the world filled the Great Hall of Charles University's historic headquarters on Friday, September 13, to begin the 2024/2025 academic year together at the matriculation ceremony. The academic year at the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies of Charles University (ÚJOP UK) began on Monday 9 September. Five hundred students from more than fifty countries are starting to study Czech and specialized subjects in the preparatory courses this autumn.
