ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

This programme is ideal for you if you demonstrate high academic potential but need support in any of the below areas:

  • Overcoming the academic gap between between your high school education and the Czech Republic for the admission process as well as to successfully master your university studies.
  • Going through the visa application process and the process of your high school studies recognition.
  • Settling smoothly into a different culture and understanding local customs.
  • Saving finances by mastering the Czech language in the foundation programme – thus enabling you to study at a Czech-language university for free (this applies to Czech public universities).

We have been successfully preparing international applicants for university studies for over 50 years. We know how to support you. Studying at university is great, but also demanding.

Selfcheck: What Will Help You Succeed?

  1. Learning Czech is easier if you already have experience with a Slavic language. Do you speak any Slavic language?
    1. "Yes" – Excellent. Does your answer to 2-4 also apply?
    2. "No" - Enhance your chances: consider attending a summer school or online Czech courses before starting the foundation programme.
  2. Do you have a solid understanding of biology, chemistry and physics?
  3. Are you committed to attending school diligently with minimal absences?
  4. Do you plan on actively studying, meaning not only in class but also in your free time?

If your answer is yes to all of the above, excellent, you have the best chances of succeeding within one year. If you answered no to two or more questions, it may be advisable to spread your foundation programme over two years. We will help you find the right pace. See the diagram below.

STUDY

Your goal is to study successfully at a university in the Czech Republic.
Our goal is to prepare you for it.

The COMPLEX programme provides the necessary support for mastering academic subjects as well as the Czech language. Czech is complex, and mastering it requires significant effort, especially from students with no experience in Slavic languages.

The success rate of our students is 90% or higher. Each year, the majority of our students successfully complete the programme with a B2 level of Czech and continue their studies at the most prestigious Czech universities in the most sought-after fields of study.

Some of our students successfully complete the programme with a B1 level of Czech. At this level, two options are available:

  1. Apply to universities that accept students with Czech proficiency starting from B1 level. See below for university study with B1 level.
  2. Continue studying the PROGRESS programme, which is specifically designed for students with B1 language proficiency. This programme will help students refine both their language and academic subject knowledge so that they can apply for the most sought-after fields of study (i.e., B2/C1) in the following year.

The foundation programme kicks off with a two-week intensive Czech language course, during which you'll firmly grasp essential phrases, receive practical tips on life in the Czech Republic, and familiarize yourself with your study center and its surroundings (shops, pharmacies, etc.). Of course, you'll also learn more details about Charles University. Starting from the third week, your schedule will incorporate lessons in specialized subjects in the Czech language.

You can look forward not only to lectures and seminars, but also to study projects with feedback from lecturers. Teachers combine theoretical instruction with practical assignments and exercises to prepare students for entrance exams and subsequent university studiesA bonus of our program is the opportunity to attend lectures at selected colleges and universities during the third trimester.

Regular tests both from the academic subjects and the language are integral part of the learning process, which will help you monitor how well you are achieving your learning goals. A diagnostic test at the end of the first and second trimester will assess your progress and reveal the weaknesses of your studies. Based on the result of the final exam at the end of the third trimester, you will receive a certificate of your knowledge of the Czech language.
