STUDY

Your goal is to study successfully at a university in the Czech Republic.
Our goal is to prepare you for it.

The preparatory programme starts with a two-week intensive Czech orientation course, accompanied by an introduction to Czech culture and history and basic information on the study centre and Charles University. Starting from the third week, the teaching of specialized subjects begins in preparation for the entrance exams for humanities studies.

You can look forward to lectures, seminars and study assignments with feedback from teachers. Instructors combine theoretical instruction with practical assignments and practice to prepare students for the entrance exams and subsequent university studies (independent work, responsibility, time management). A bonus of our program is the opportunity to attend lectures at selected colleges and universities during the third trimester.

Zdena Malá

PhDr. Zdeňka Malá

I teach the Socio-Cultural Seminar as part of the intensive preparatory programme for Humanities for Czech universities. In the course, we discuss current events, the history and present of the Czech Republic, politics, architecture and art. Classes are held at the Krystal Centre, and we sometimes go on excursions to museums and galleries in Prague.

I have been working at the UJOP Charles University for 14 years.

"In the course you can learn a lot of things not only about the humanities, but also about life in the Czech Republic. You'll need that for the entrance exams, and then throughout your studies and life here."

Regular tests both from the academic subjects and the language are integral part of the learning process, which will help you monitor how well you are achieving your learning goals. A diagnostic test at the end of the first and second trimester will assess your progress and reveal the weaknesses of your studies. Based on the result of the final exam at the end of the third trimester, you will receive a certificate of your knowledge of the Czech language.

PLEASE NOTE

The PROGRESS programme is intended only for students with an initial knowledge of Czech at the minimum level of B1 of the CEFR. Before entering the PROGRESS programme, the student must provide a CCE certificate confirming the achievement of B1 level, or another certificate from ILPS CU confirming this level, or pass a diagnostic test and an interview to verify this level. Students with a Czech language level below B1 will not be admitted to the programme. Students with a lower level of Czech than B1 have the option to take the  COMPLEX programme.
