The preparatory programme starts with a two-week intensive Czech orientation course, accompanied by an introduction to Czech culture and history and basic information on the study centre and Charles University. Starting from the third week, the lessons in specialized subjects start, which will prepare the students for the entrance exams for studies in the fields of humanities.
You can look forward to lectures, seminars and study assignments with feedback from teachers. Instructors combine theoretical instruction with practical assignments and practice to prepare students for the entrance exams and subsequent university studies (independent work, responsibility, time management). In the summer semester, students can attend lectures at selected universities.
There is no proper study without tests and exams. You will also write continuous tests in Czech and in your specialized subjects and take final semester exams at the end of the semester. The Czech language course ends with a winter semester exam at B1 level and a summer semester exam at B2 level. If you pass the final exams in the summer semester, you will receive a certificate of completion of the preparatory programme indicating your level of language proficiency.

The preparatory programme for studies in arts and architecture takes place at the Prague Krystal Centre. The advantage of this campus in Prague 6 is the possibility of studying, meals and accommodation in one place. There is a large natural park and a large sports and recreational area of Charles University near the study centre. The trip to the city centre takes 15 minutes by metro.
„When I moved to Europe I met a nice lady who helped foreigners find their way around and settle in. I decided that one day I would help people too.
My teacher from ILPS, Zdena Malá, told me that there is a Masters degree in Social Work at the Hussite Theological Faculty, where I enrolled with her help.
I studied at ILPS for a year and worked on my essay for two months and it paid off, I was admitted to Charles University. I am happy that my dream can come true and I will be able to help people.“ >>>
