Czech Art and Humanity faculties are among the best in the world. The U.S. News college rankings are widely considered America's most influential.
Charles University is also ranked among the top 200 universities in the humanities, arts and social sciences by QS Rankings.
Charles University has been recognised as one of the world’s premier institutions across all the disciplines it consistently offers in education and research, as found by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 by Subject. The university excelled in the fields of arts & humanities, in which it was ranked 151st – 175th.
Graduates of the 2023/2024 preparatory course have successfully enrolled in a wide variety of universities. Some of them are really competitive, still thanks to UJOP Charles University foundation porgrammes and their hard work our students have succeeded. However, with UJOP preparation, this is also possible. Our 2024/25 graduates entered various specialties at different universities, including:
"What I like the most about UJOP courses is that I have good teachers who like to listen to me and are interested in us not only as students but also as individuals"
"What I like the most about UJOP is that Czech teachers always prepare some activities for us and give us space for discussion"
It is also important to emphasize that the access to various subjects allowed me to broaden my horizons and gain knowledge in various areas, which greatly inspires and motivates me in my studies
Listen to what five of our students have to say about the course. They all praise the level of training, they are confident that thanks to the courses they will enter their dream specialities:
“Just today I was walking home from work and I was texting with a friend I met at UJOP. We've been texting and seeing each other, and we've become very good friends. She may actually be one of my best friends. The year at UJOP was really great, the amazing experiences, the cultural events and trips that UJOP offers. Czech is a very difficult language. People usually think that because it's a Slavic language it will be super easy for us Slavs but for me it was exactly the opposite, without a good course and a good teacher, I'm sure you can't make it.."
"At ÚJOP I didn't only learn Czech but many other things as well: how to prepare a presentation, how to speak properly, what to do and what to avoid when presenting, etc. I am a geography teacher and so it is a very useful experience for me. I also met a lot of people from the Czech Republic, and which is very important for me is that I have finally visited places that I had only seen on the internet. That was a very important and also very beautiful experience for me as a geography teacher."
"When I moved to Europe I met a nice lady who helped foreigners find their way around and settle in. I decided that one day I would help people too.
My teacher from UJOP Charles University, Zdena Malá, told me that there is a Masters degree in Social Work at the Hussite Theological Faculty, where I enrolled with her help.
I studied at UJOP for a year and worked on my essay for two months and it paid off, I was admitted to Charles University. I am happy that my dream can come true and I will be able to help people."
“I took a programme in Poděbrady to prepare for my field which was psychology. Studying there gave me a strong foundation in Czech, thanks to which I was subsequently able to start studying psychology at university in Czech. Even though it has been a lot of years since my studies, I still try to keep my Czech language skills fresh in my mind and I can’t forget the nice times in Poděbrady. Every day there was rich and full of amazing experiences, I spend the best years of my youth there.
From my experience, UJOP is an institution that welcomes students with open arms. When I first came to Czechia, the people at UJOP welcomed me in such a way that I felt like I was among friends. They did everything for us, they took care of everything on our behalf. We didn't have to worry about anything. The students themselves really just have to come and study. UJOP will also arrange your residence permit, university applications, dormitory applications... Even the study itself and the relationships with the teachers were great. At UJOP there are helpful and friendly people who give their 100%."

At UJOP it is also possible to study humanities tradition, the teaching of humanities is really very old. It has been 50 years that UJOP has existed and 50 years that they have been teaching humanities. So where else to go to study than the new crystal centre has been in existence since 2010 and since 2010 the humanities have been concentrated here. You can learn a lot of things here, not only about the humanities, but also about life in the Czech Republic. You will need this not only for the entrance exams, but also afterwards throughout your studies or your life here.
In this video you will find the answers to the questions:
