Information Technology at Charles University

Information Technology with a focus on education is a field of study that provides a comprehensive bachelor's degree education focused on the one hand, on disciplines related to teacher training: pedagogy, psychology, general and disciplinary didactics. And on the other hand - in the field of information and communication technologies. Especially on the foundations of computer science; algorithmization and programming; data and information processing using information and communication technologies; development of web applications; operating systems and their administration; computer networks, their creation and management; design and implementation of databases and information systems; computer graphics and the creation of multimedia applications.

The entrance exam is held in the form of a written test in which candidates answer multiple choice or structured response questions and solve problems. Its aim is to test your ability to reason logically and determine the level of your knowledge and skills in the field of information technology and its applications on the level of a high school graduate. To solve the problems, you are expected to use basic mathematical tools. The maximum score for the written test is 40 points. The duration of the test is 60 minutes.

Information Technology at Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT)

The Faculty of Information Technology is a part of the Czech Technical University in Prague.Its students have the opportunity to choose the following areasas their specialization for the bachelor's degree:

  • Management informatics
  • Computer graphics
  • Computer engineering
  • Computer networks and the Internet
  • Computer systems and virtualization
  • Software engineering 
  • Theoretical computer science
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Web engineering

The entrance exam is held in the form of a written math test. The test lasts 90 minutes. You can get from 0 to 100 points, for successful admission you need toget at least 70 points. The test consists of multiple choice questions. The result of the exam is the sum of the points obtained for all questions. With the exception of writing instruments, the use of any aids, including electronic devices, is not permitted.

Preparatory course at UJOP Charles University for Information Technology

Description of the preparatory course

The preparatory course at ÚJOP Charles University includes intensive Czech language learning and training in special subjects, the knowledge of which you will need at the entrance exams and during your further studies. The course is also suitable for those who are starting to learn Czech from scratch. Our language certificate is recognized by more than 80 faculties of state universities, which means that you won’t need to take an exam in Czech when you apply to a university.
