The graduate is familiar with the main experimental methods and methods for characterizing nanomaterials.

Nanotechnology at Czech Universities

Nanotechnology at Palacký University in Olomouc

The program is designed as an academic one. It consists of modules of theoretical subjects in the fields of physics, mathematics, partially chemistry and nanotechnology. It is complemented by practical lessons aimed at gaining experience in conducting experiments. Students also complete internships lasting a total of 12 weeks at companies or research institutes that specialize in (nano)materials.

The classes are conducted at the Faculty of Science. Find the detailed admission requirements here. (updated 20.04.2023).

The entrance exam: SCIO test (OSP or Mathematics). In both cases you pass the exam by getting at least the 90th percentile, unless a lower percentile is specified for a particular study program.

Level of the Czech language proficiency: no certificate is required. Read about language proficiency here.

Physics - Nanotechnology at Masaryk University

The study program "Physics - Nanotechnology" will introduce you to the latest trends in modern nanotechnology in terms of physical phenomena that are applied in practice.
Nanotechnologies are a priority in the scientific policy of the Czech Republic and the European Union, since they have a significant impact on almost all industries and make it possible to produce new modern materials with unique useful properties. Nanotechnology draws upon knowledge of many scientific disciplines - chemistry, physics, biology, medicine and microelectronics. However, studying physics seems to be the most beneficial start on the path to acquiring the most versatile competencies in terms of learning the key production, diagnostic and functional principles.

The classes are conducted at the Faculty of Science. Find the detailed admission requirements here (updated 01.12.2022).

The entrance exam: A learning ability test or a physics test.

Bachelor Degree in Mathematical Modelling in Physics and Technology for Free

The second important argument in favor of a Czech diploma is that your education is easily recognized in any country of the European Union.

What can you do with a degree of Mathematical Modelling in Physics and Technology?

To understand complex physical, chemical, or even social systems, it is necessary to describe the phenomena that is being studied or create its mathematical model. The evolution of systems like this should be predictable based on reliable models. Thus, the modeling process consists of the analysis of the relevant phenomena, their mathematical description and the subsequent solution of the resulting mathematical equations. All these skills are acquired by a graduate majoring in Mathematical Modeling. The study of mathematical modeling features considerable freedom in the choice of specialization, such as modeling of complex physical experiments and engineering processes, chemical engineering modeling, statistical modeling or biological systems modeling. Particular attention is paid to understanding and mastering the mathematical tools necessary for model formulation and analysis, and also to subsequent numerical solution with the use of modern computer methods. Graduates can continue their studies in physics and mathematics or work in a commercial environment (for instance, in companies that rely on the use of mathematical models, technology firms, consulting companies, financial institutions, and in the information technology field).

Mathematical Modelling in Physics and Technology at Czech Universities

Mathematical Modelling in Physics and Technology at Charles University

One of the features of the modern society is the interconnection of previously separate areas of human activity. The transfer of knowledge and skills between different fields often leads to tremendous progress (in medicine, physics, chemistry and biology). The goal of the Mathematical Modeling program is to produce graduates who are capable of critical thinking and connecting seemingly disparate disciplines. Graduates will understand physical principles of natural phenomena, their mathematical formulation and subsequent numerical solution of the resulting mathematical equations. This combination of mathematics, physics and computer science is a good tradition of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University and is exceptional in the world. Graduates will be able to continue their studies both in the Czech Republic and abroad or find good jobs, for example, in technology and computer companies.

Information security is taught at the Faculty of Information Technology. At the bachelor's level, this is a specialization in general learning, and within the framework of the master's program, this is a separate area of education.

What can you do with a Mechatronics degree?

Graduates of the study program are going to be employed in the field of technical development, management of industrial highly automated processes, design of new technological and information equipment and systems that require versatile knowledge and rapid adaptation. Due to the continuously increasing pace of technological progress, most modern products cannot be developed without combining knowledge from various technical fields. Therefore, new specialists who are not only well versed in their narrow specialization, but also have knowledge in related fields, are required more and more often. As a consequence of this fact, a new technical discipline called "mechatronics" emerged at the end of the 20th century. Mechatronics combines knowledge mainly from the fields of electronics, mechanics, computer science and management. Its main features are artificial intelligence, interactivity, autonomous behavior or readiness of structures. It is used in many modern fields such as robotics, smart sensors, satellite technologies, etc. With an Increasing frequency, this technical field is also moving towards the field of natural sciences, and new interdisciplinary areas are emerging, such as nanotechnology, biotechnology and restoration technologies.

Mechatronics at Czech Universities

Mechatronics at Technical University of Liberec (TUL)

The university offers education in the field of mechatronics, i.e. in the field of computer science, automation, diagnostics, measurement and management processes, design of electronic control of machines with the optimal use of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic elements and components. After the second semester, students can choose their specializations:
