UJOP Management Hosts Mongolian Delegation and Mongolian President’s Advisor

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of Czech-Mongolian diplomatic relations, Mongolian President Chürelsüch Uchna visited the Czech Republic. On this occasion, on March 10, the UJOP management held a meeting with key members of the Mongolian delegation, which included Lodoiravsal Choimaa, advisor to the president on education, science, and technology, Ochirkhuyag Bayanjargal, rector of the Mongolian National University, and Enkhbayar Baatartsol, director of the Department of External Cooperation at the Mongolian Ministry of Education.

The Mongolian officials met with Dana Hůlková Nývltová, UJOP director, and Pavel Pečený, deputy director for development, to discuss the educational needs of Mongolian students at UJOP, their current challenges, and opportunities for further study in the Czech Republic.

Additionally, Tserenjigmed Sharavtseren, director of the Mongolian State Conservatory, joined the discussion on potential programmes for students from the conservatory, and on their growing interest in Czech composers.

Another discussed topic was the preparatory courses for studies in medicine and the natural sciences and other opportunities for collaboration between UJOP and Mongolian education institutions.

Director Dana Hůlková Nývltová emphasized the role of language proficiency in academic success, noting: “Mathematics and music are universal languages, which makes studying technical and musical disciplines easier. However, for social sciences, humanities, and health sciences, Czech is essential. To meet academic goals, it’s crucial to ensure that preparatory programmes are tailored in length and intensity to the language learning needs of Mongolian students.”

This meeting was a continuation of last year’s discussions with Mr. Lodoiravsal Choimaa. Currently, twenty-one Mongolian students who received scholarships from the president of Mongolia are enrolled in UJOP’s technical preparatory programmes. This partnership is expected to bring more Mongolian students to UJOP’s preparatory courses in the future.
