Exploring the Wonders of Science: A Visit to the Institute of Anatomy and the Faculty of Science Charles University

On Friday, January 31st, students from preparatory medical programmes experienced a day of discovery at the Institute of Anatomy of the First Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Science.

The Institute of Anatomy offered an impressive display of skeletons, giving students the chance to learn about the fascinating world of natural anomalies. Among the many facts they uncovered were the absence of a placenta in kangaroos, the tiny size of newborn bear cubs that easily fit in a human palm, and the fact that one-eyed creatures, known as Cyclops, actually exist.

The experience deepened as students ventured to the Faculty of Science, where a student of chemistry introduced an interactive periodic table to challenge their knowledge. Not easily swayed, the visitors demonstrated their expertise by correctly answering questions and participating in a hands-on activity where they identified metals by touch.

This event, held on the final Friday of January, was a celebration of science, offering a glimpse into the academic environments the students of UJOP may one day inhabit.
