High quality and modern teaching of academic subjects and languages – (25 lessons per week, 900 lessons in total) delivered through lectures, seminars and study assignments in:
The preparatory programme starts with a two-week intensive Czech orientation course, accompanied by an introduction to Czech culture and history and basic information on the study centre and Charles University. Starting from the third week, the teaching of specialized subjects begins in preparation for the studies in medical and pharmaceutical fields.
You can look forward to lectures, seminars and study assignments with feedback from teachers. Instructors combine theoretical instruction with practical assignments and practice to prepare students for the entrance exams and subsequent university studies (independent work, responsibility, time management). We place great emphasis on the acquisition of professional terminology and presentation skills. A bonus of our program is the opportunity to attend lectures at selected colleges and universities during the third trimester.
Regular tests both from the academic subjects and the language are integral part of the learning process, which will help you monitor how well you are achieving your learning goals. A diagnostic test at the end of the first and second trimester will assess your progress and reveal the weaknesses of your studies. Based on the result of the final exam at the end of the third trimester, you will receive a certificate of your knowledge of the Czech language.
The PROGRESS programme is intended only for students with an initial knowledge of Czech at the minimum level of B1 of the CEFR. Before entering the PROGRESS programme, the student must provide a CCE certificate confirming the achievement of B1 level, or another certificate from ILPS CU confirming this level, or pass a diagnostic test and an interview to verify this level. Students with a Czech language level below B1 will not be admitted to the programme. Students with a lower level of Czech than B1 have the option to take the COMPLEX programme.
