How to Apply: Step-by-Step Guide: Long-term courses (one-semester and two-semester)


How to Apply for Long-Term Courses: ONE / TWO SEMESTER CZECH COURSE

STEP 1: FILL IN THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

In the details of the course you have chosen, click on the APPLY button, which will take you to the online application form. The application form must be filled out in the Latin alphabet.


Online application attachments

You must include the following attachments in your online application:


  • a) Cover Letter. Download, complete and upload the motivation letter as an attachment to the application in English/Russian or Czech.

    • The reason for your interest in studying in the Czech Republic, whether you have studied the Czech language before (for how long).

    • Your goals after graduation

    • Your knowledge of other languages

    • A short CV

  • b) Passport copy – Photo and biodata page


Please pay attention to the instructions in the online application form, which specify which formats and size of the attached files are acceptable.


STEP 2: AUTO-REPLY UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR APPLICATION

Once you have submitted your online application, you will receive an automatic confirmation to the e-mail address provided in the application form.

The confirmation includes:

  • a PDF file with a copy of your application form

  • a list of documents attached to your application

  • the e-mail address of your administrative assistant who will process your application and then issue all the documents (for visa application, accomodation and other).


You will resolve all matters regarding documents and finance with your administrative assistant by e-mail. When communicating with the representative, always use your NAME and SURNAME (in the Latin alphabet) and the name of the study centre Vorsilska as the SUBJECT of the e-mail.


STEP 3: WAIT FOR AN E-MAIL FROM YOUR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Once we have processed your application, you will receive an e-mail from your administrative assistant with the following documents:

 

  • Payment instructions (use these instructions to pay your tuition fee.)

  • Draft of the study contract (this document is for reference only and you do not need to sign it yet.)

  • Accommodation conditions (if you have booked accommodation; For more information about our accommodation offerings, please visit here.)

  • Health insurance order form and a template for completing it (if you have booked health insurance through us; further information on the page Health insurance). You must print thisdocument, fill it in, sign it, scan/photograph it and send it back to our administrative assistant.

  • Other information materials


STEP 4: PAY FOR THE COURSE

The tuition fee must be paid in full so that we can issue and send you the official admission letter that you will need for your visa application.


If you are not applying for a visa (EU students or students residing in the Czech Republic), you must pay the full tuition fee at least 1 week before the start of the course (if you are booking accommodation, a deposit may be required earlier).


STEP 5: PREPARE DOCUMENTS FOR VISA APPLICATION

After you pay the course fee in full, you will receive the following documents from us:



You will need to collect other documents by yourself. Find your consulate on the website of the

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and check the document requirements on the website of the embassy/consulate in your country!


The following documents are usually required:


  • International travel document/passport (Passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the expiry date of your future long-term visa.)

  • A bank statement of funds for your stay in the Czech Republic

  • Сriminal record statement (the document must be additionally legalized. The degree of legalization depends on the state to which thedocument was issued. See the full list here)

  • notarised parental consent to stay in the Czech Republic (for minors only)


The documents you acquire yourself must be translated into Czech by a court translator. You can order the translation of your documents from us.

STEP 6: BOOK AN INTERVIEW AT THE EMBASSY

Find your embassy/consulate general on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, see the instructions for arranging an appointment and register for an interview.


You can apply for a visa for a stay of over 90 days (long-term), or for a long-term residence permit for the purpose of OTHER.

STEP 7: SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITH DOCUMENTS

Double check the document requirements on the website of the embassy/consulate in your country! At the time of application, the documents must not be older than 180 days.

STEP 8: COLLECT YOUR VISA

After submitting the application at the embassy/consulate, all you have to do is wait. The deadline for processing an application for the Other type visa is 120 days.


You can check the status of your application on the website of the Immigration Portal of the Czech Republic. ATTENTION: If the system displays that the application is approved, you do not need to send an e-mail or call the embassy / consulate immediately. Their staff will inform you by e-mail or phone about the outcome of your application.


If you are granted a visa, you will be asked to come to the embassy / consulate with a valid passport (the passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the expiry dateof your future long-term visa) and a valid health insurance contract. Refund policy in case of visa denial

Our students are rarely denied visas. However, if your visa is not approved, you will be refunded according to the terms and conditions of the refund, which you can find here.


STEP 9: FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS

Before the start of the course, you will receive an e-mail from the administrative assistant of the central study department with an Information Letter, in which you will find important instructions on how to start the course. Right at the beginning of the course, you will also receive login and password for MS Teams – a platform/information channel between students and the study centre.
