The follow-up retraining course is designed especially for foreigners with the knowledge of Ukrainian/Russian, for whom the knowledge of the Czech language is necessary to enter the labour market. Applicants with basic and intermediate knowledge of Czech (ideally graduates of the basic Czech retraining course) are welcome to register. The follow-up retraining course may be reimbursed to students if they meet all the prescribed conditions of the locally competent Labour Office. Self-paying students may also sign up.

We offer the following retraining course options:

  • in-class follow-up course (120 in-class lessons)
  • combined follow-up course (36 in-class lessons, 84 online lessons)

• Follow-up retraining course in Czech as a foreign language for medical professionals (*This course will be opened if the minimum required number of applicants is reached.)

The retraining courses are accredited by the Ministry of Education (No. MSMT-16663/2022-5) based on §108 of Act No. 435/2004 Coll., on Employment, as amended, and Decree No. 176/2009 Coll., and in accordance with §108 (3) of the Employment Act and §67 of Act No. 500/2004 Coll., Administrative Code, as amended.   

The objective of the course is to master more advanced communication in general life situations, in basic situations at work or at the government offices. Upon completion of the course, graduates will be able to independently handle simple social and work communication, understand the main topics of news reports and technical information and instructions. Furthermore, they will be able to handle simple office procedures and basic written and electronic communication.

The price of the course covers basic textbooks, internal teaching materials, initial diagnostics, final exam and retraining certificate.

The course takes place in the premises of ÚJOP UK Prague-Voršilská in the centre of Prague near the National Theatre. The National Theatre tram stop and the Národní třída metro station are within walking distance. You will study in modern, well-equipped classrooms with interactive panels.
