The course is intended especially for foreigners for whom knowledge of the Czech language is necessary for entering the labour market. Applicants with no or little knowledge of Czech are welcome to sign up. Students may be reimbursed for the retraining course if they meet all the conditions prescribed by the locally competent Labour Office. Self-paying students may also sign up.

We offer the following retraining course options: 

• General retraining course in Czech as a foreign language
  • in-class basic course (60 in-class lessons)
  • combined basic course (18 in-class lessons, 42 online lessons)

• Retraining course in Czech as a foreign language for medical professionals
  • in-class basic course (60 in-class lessons)
  • combined basic course (18 in-class lessons, 42 online lessons)

The retraining courses are accredited by the Ministry of Education (No. MSMT-16663/2022-5) based on §108 of Act No. 435/2004 Coll., on Employment, as amended, and Decree No. 176/2009 Coll., and in accordance with §108 (3) of the Employment Act and §67 of Act No. 500/2004 Coll., Administrative Code, as amended.

The aim of the course is to teach students how to communicate in general life situations, in basic situations at work or at the government offices. Upon completion of the course, graduates will understand and be able to use common basic words and phrases that meet their specific needs.

• 2x per week
• 8 lessons per week

The price of the course covers basic textbooks, internal teaching materials, initial diagnostics, final exam and retraining certificate.

The course takes place in the premises of ÚJOP UK Prague-Voršilská in the centre of Prague near the National Theatre. The National Theatre tram stop and the Národní třída metro station are within walking distance. You will study in modern, well-equipped classrooms with interactive panels.
