The FAST programme - a fast and efficient route to university studies

If you are interested in studying at university and already speak Czech at B1 level, we have a great opportunity for you - the FAST programme. In only two semesters, you will achieve level B2+ to C1 in Czech, which will make it possible for you to study at university. Successful students will receive a certificate of language proficiency that is recognized by more than 80 faculties of public universities.

Foreigners who want to prepare for university studies in a foreign country are recommended to take a preparatory course. This preparation will help improve your language skills, make you familiar with the academic environment and extend your knowledge of the subjects in your field of study.

With more than 900 lessons, the FAST programme will prepare you for both the entrance exams and the study itself. Before starting your studies, you only need to prove your knowledge of Czech with a CCE exam certificate or other ILPS CU certificate.

Students attend 25 lessons per week, which include a variety of activities such as lectures, seminars and study assignments with individual feedback from our teachers. The programme includes a two-week Czech language adaptation course, orientation in Czech life and institutions, the study centre and Charles University.

The FAST programme also gives you the opportunity to have regular individual consultations with Charles University teachers. Students are provided with basic textbooks, copyright materials and licenses to use MS Teams and Moodle in the course.

Locations for the preparatory programme vary according to the field of study. The programme for the study of medicine and pharmacy, natural sciences and humanities takes place at the Krystal centre in Prague, where accommodation, meals and sports facilities are available to students. The programme for the study of economics, engineering and IT takes place in the Podebrady centre with accommodation near the castle where the classes are held.

In addition, the programme offers various extra-curricular activities such as cultural, sports and entertainment events at the center, conversation clubs, informative webinars and networking with ILPS CU alumni.
