Students from the Poděbrady centre were rewarded with certificates, music and a friendly farewell

On Wednesday, June 5, students from the Poděbrady centre received certificates for successful completion of the ÚJOP UK preparatory courses. They said goodbye to their school, teachers and classmates, with whom they had spent an intensive academic year, in a dignified and touching atmosphere of this unique moment at Poděbrady castle.

The closing ceremony, highlighted by a musical performance by scholarship students Yelyzaveta Rafalska from Ukraine and Ivan Milić from Bosnia and Herzegovina, took place in an intimate setting of the Poděbrady castle hall in the presence of PhDr. Dana Hůlková Nývltová, Ph.D., director of ÚJOP UK. There, class teachers presented the students, divided into three groups, with certificates of successful completion of their studies. Special awards were given to two students in each class for the best study results and other outstanding school and extra-curricular activities.

For the best results in the final exam in the centre, Aliyev Movladiy from Kazakhstan and Alexandra Kuchsh from Kazakhstan received vouchers for e-books. Viktoria Shevchyk has yet to receive her gift.

The winners of the all-year photographic competition ÚJOP Through the Eyes of Students also received their prizes. Timur Dostanov from Kazakhstan received a voucher for an evening boat ride with dinner for two people for the 1st place, Helen Navarro López from Cuba was surely pleased with a voucher to the National Theatre.

"The students may be leaving their study centre, but the doors of Poděbrady castle remain open to them at any time in the future," said the head of the centre in Poděbrady, Mgr. Lukáš Vaňous and thus affirmed its pleasant, almost family-like atmosphere.

The festive character of this important day was also underlined by the kind words of the director of ÚJOP, who not only said goodbye to the students, but also thanked the entire teaching and administrative team for their work throughout the year and building ÚJOP's good name.
