This year, the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies is celebrating its 50th anniversary as part of Charles University, which prepares foreign/international applicants for their studies (in both Czech and English) in the language, their field of study and adaptation, works with students of accredited study programmes, provides language certification and prepares teachers who teach Czech as a foreign or second language.

In the anniversary year, we are organising a conference which focuses on the support of international students, combining the topics of internationalisation and the success of international students and intends to link these issues to the life of universities as a whole and the internationalisation of domestic students.

Together, we aim to find answers to the questions we all deal with and for which there are no simple answers, and to present tools that help to solve these questions and to handle unusual situations.

In the conference, the topic will be outlined by the keynote speakers, the main ideas will be presented in a panel discussion, and in the subsequent afternoon workshops in individual sessions with the panellists, specific tools and solutions to selected key topics will be presented with practical examples, which will be joined by individual speakers with examples of best practice.
