On Wednesday, 14 January, students enrolled in economic, technical and IT preparatory programmes at UJOP in Poděbrady took part in an educational excursion to four leading Czech universities in Prague: the Czech Technical University (CTU), the Czech University of Life Sciences (CZU), the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University, and the Prague University of Economics and Business.
The visits gave students a valuable opportunity to familiarise themselves with the university environment, available study programmes, admission requirements, and potential career pathways. The programme included faculty presentations, guided tours of university campuses, and personal meetings with current students and academic staff.
UJOP has long placed strong emphasis on the comprehensive preparation of international students for studies at Czech universities. In addition to language and subject-specific instruction, preparatory programmes focus on practical orientation within the Czech academic environment. Regular visits to university Open Days and campuses form an integral part of this approach, helping students make informed decisions about their choice of university and field of study and easing their transition to the next stage of education.
This excursion followed the EduHub higher education fair organised by UJOP for students in November. Further university visits are planned for January and February, including trips to the First and Second Faculties of Medicine of Charles University, the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, and the University of Hradec Králové.
