UJOP UK Helps Address Healthcare Staffing Crisis by Training Vietnamese Medical Professionals in Czech Language to Work in the Czech Republic

Charles University and the Czech Chamber of Commerce have signed a memorandum of cooperation, launching a joint initiative to tackle the acute shortage of healthcare personnel in the Czech Republic. The solution: recruiting qualified medical professionals from Vietnam.

The Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies at Charles University (UJOP UK) will play a key role in this project by providing Czech language and professional training to selected Vietnamese healthcare workers.

The training will begin in Vietnam, led by teachers from UJOP UK, and will include a standardized Czech language examination at the B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Upon successful completion of the language course and the recognition of their medical diplomas, participants will continue their language and professional development in the Czech Republic to at least a B2 proficiency level. This will enable them to integrate into the Czech healthcare system and help alleviate critical staffing shortages.

As part of the memorandum, UJOP UK has committed to selecting qualified language instructors for teaching in Vietnam and designing appropriate study materials. This initiative supports the successful integration of foreign professionals into Czech society while providing a solution to the healthcare staffing crisis.
