UJOP students visit Charles University’s Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové

On Thursday, February 6th, students enrolled in medical preparatory programmes had the unique opportunity to visit the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové.

The day kicked off with a warm welcome in the historic building of the Faculty of Medicine, followed by a brief introduction. Students were then split into four groups to begin their tour of the faculty’s diverse departments. The first stop was the Department of Anatomy, where students were introduced to the latest tools and techniques used in teaching human anatomy. Highlights included an autopsy room and advanced instruments that allow detailed examination of the human body at various levels.

Next, the group visited the Simulation Centre, where students tried their hands at cardiac massage. The tour also included a stop at the Physiology Department, where students practiced essential medical skills, such as measuring blood pressure. The visit also included a stop at the Medical Biophysics Department, a research centre for medical innovation.

At the end, students gathered in the lecture hall for a presentation by Vice-Dean Prof. Emil Rudolf. He shared valuable information about the admission process, the medical studies at the faculty, hospital-based medical practice and student life. The students also met MUDr. Martin Kapitán, Ph.D., from the Department of Dentistry, who provided insights into the study of dentistry at the faculty.

The day concluded with a session, where faculty staff and student union representatives answered questions and provided practical advice about studying at the Faculty of Medicine.
