UJOP UK presented as an example of excellent work at the conference on micro-certificates in higher education in the Czech Republic

On Tuesday, 26 November 2024, a conference on micro-certificates in higher education in the Czech Republic was held in the conference rooms in Celetná, Charles University. The micro-certificates were established with the support of the European Commission to offer students the opportunity to extend and complete their education beyond their studies or after graduation, as part of lifelong learning. The main objective is to increase the overall competitiveness of candidates in the labour market. This certificate also offers a great advantage due to its international recognition.

At this conference, PhDr. Dana Hůlková Nývltová, Ph.D., the director of UJOP UK, presented UJOP as an example of successful and effective implementation of micro-certification. This new form of output from educational courses was seen by UJOP as an opportunity to be part of the implementation of something innovative and promising, making it the first educational institution in the Czech Republic where it was possible to obtain this certificate.

In her presentation, the director outlined the process of preparing a course aimed at obtaining a micro-certificate at Charles University and introduced three courses currently offered at UJOP UK, all of which can be completed with a micro-certificate, for students of Charles University as well as for the professional public. Specifically, these courses are: Czech for Academic Environment, ZKUČ - a two-semester methodological course on teaching Czech as a foreign language and SMEČ - an online one-semester methodological course on teaching Czech.

"We believe that at the time of changing labour market demands and the need for continuous learning, this type of certification provides a flexible, standardised, credible and therefore promising form of partial output within the qualifications system," said DHN.
