Students of the medicine and pharmacy preparatory courses visit the 1st and 2nd Medical Faculty of Charles University

On Tuesday, 19 November, students of the medicine and pharmacy preparatory courses had the opportunity to visit the 1st and 2nd Medical Faculty of Charles University. During their visit to both faculties, they toured a variety of classrooms and laboratories, including the autopsy room, and had the chance to meet with students and faculty members. This gave them a valuable first-hand insight into the admissions process and the details of study.

The students also learned about the importance of studying Czech and Latin in the preparatory courses. A strong foundation in these languages is essential as it greatly eases the transition into medical studies at Czech universities, allowing students to devote more time to their medical subjects.

As part of Charles University, the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies (UJOP) is able to offer these enriching visits to medical faculties, helping students to gain a deeper understanding of the institutions. The visits also give students the opportunity to compare official information with insights directly from students and professors.

In addition to visits to Czech medical universities, UJOP's medicine and pharmacy preparatory courses offer courses in Czech, medical Latin and specialised subjects such as biology, chemistry and physics. These courses are designed to thoroughly prepare students for entrance exams, the interview and their future medical studies.
