A visit to the Czech Embassy in Baku

In mid-October, representatives of the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies of Charles University visited Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, where they met with the Ambassador and Consul of the Czech Republic. Together they discussed their experience with the process of issuing visas to prospective students for the Czech Republic and also talked about the possibilities of how UJOP could help make the visa processes smoother. The Embassy in Baku also confirmed that there is a growing interest among Azerbaijanis in studying in the Czech Republic.

The main part of the trip was a visit to the educational fair at the Hyatt Regent Hotel, where the Czech Republic was represented by UJOP UK and Masaryk University. At the educational fair, students could learn about the wide selection of bachelor's, master's and preparatory programs offered by these institutions. The latter, which is provided by UJOP UK, helps with language and academic preparation as well as cultural and social adaptation. More than 700 people interested in studying abroad visited the fair.

The fair also included a lecture block, which featured a lecture given by UJOP UK on the possibilities of studying in the Czech Republic. This lecture summarized the reasons why it is beneficial to study in the Czech Republic and provided the audience with a brief overview of Czech universities and an explanation of their admission process.

The lecture also included a small personal audit, which could help students to choose a suitable start of their studies in the Czech Republic.
