Jubilee exhibition presents the fifty-year history of UJOP as a part of Charles University

A panel exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies joining Charles University was opened to the public on 22 October 2024 in the reception area of Karolinum, the historic seat of Charles University.

The ten-panel exhibition traces the important milestones in the Institute's history, describes the programmes and activities offered by the Institute, and presents a number of materials published or co-authored by UJOP that have influenced the way Czech as a foreign language is taught. You can also get acquainted with the process of creating standardized exams, to learn what partners and partner communities UJOP has abroad and how it helps foreign students with their life in the Czech Republic.

The exhibition was first presented at the Internationalization conference in June this year. Since then, it has been on display at the castle in Poděbrady, where the Summer Schools participants could see it, and later also at the Prague - Voršilská centre, where Czech language courses for foreigners take place. It will be displayed in Karolinum until 8 November 2024, then it will be moved to the Prague - Krystal centre.
