Be a Czech for one night. Students from many countries met on International Wednesday

At 6 pm on Wednesday, 9 October 2024, an interesting event called Check it in Czech feat. Czechs! took place at Kampus Hybernská.  It was held as part of the regular International Wednesdays organised by student ambassadors and societies across all faculties of Charles University. The second International Wednesday in October was organised by ÚJOP UK. On this occasion, the biggest enthusiasts for Czech culture and language gathered in Kampus and enjoyed the programme prepared by two teachers of the Institute.

Students could take part in a crash course in Czech, led by Karolína Pavlíková. In the course, students learned some basic useful phrases and words which will make their everyday life in the Czech Republic much easier. There was also a Czech pub quiz, prepared by Nikola Popperová. It tested the students’ knowledge of Czech culture, history, literature and some interesting aspects of the Czech language in a fun way.

Moreover, the entire evening was an excellent opportunity to practice Czech and to engage in conversations between native speakers and students from abroad. Some of the participants have even found their buddies, with whom they will continue to socialize during their studies in the Czech Republic.

Students from many foreign countries attended the event and showed their passion for the Czech language and the Czech Republic. This made the whole event a success where everyone enjoyed its wonderful, friendly atmosphere.
