The new academic year has begun! We are happy to welcome the students of ÚJOP, who are starting their classes

The hot summer is passing quickly and therefore the time is coming when young people from all over the world come to the Czech Republic to study at the Institute of Language and Preparatory Studies of Charles University. They are looking forward to a year full of languages (Czech or English), specialized subjects, but also new experiences and friendships. They will enter the classrooms of ÚJOP UK centres on Monday 9 September for their first classes.

In the new academic year of 2024/2025, ÚJOP UK will host almost a thousand international students to study in various programmes. Whether they have arrived to prepare themselves for university studies or to learn or improve their Czech in our Czech language courses for foreigners, and whether their programme takes place at the Poděbrady study centre or at the Prague centres, the doors to their studies and life in the Czech Republic are now wide open.

Upon arrival at the Prague Václav Havel Airport, students are met by ÚJOP airport buddies who will welcome them to the new country and help them find their way around. They will explain the route to their accommodation, give them basic information on Prague transport, on purchasing tickets and answer their questions.

A group of Mongolian presidential scholarship holders also arrived in Prague on Wednesday 4 September. Over twenty Mongolian students, who have received the Mongolian presidential scholarship and will begin their studies at the Poděbrady castle in the COMPLEX preparatory programmes, came here as a result of a mutual cooperation between the Mongolian government and Charles University.
