The course focuses on practical academic and everyday English needed for foundation programmes: understanding lectures, reading study texts, expressing opinions, and communicating confidently in class.

Course aim

The main aim of the course is to help students:

• move from A2 to B1 level of English (CEFR) (IELTS 4.0 to 4.5/5.5)
• improve understanding of spoken and written English used in study contexts
• communicate more confidently in English during their foundation programme
• build the language skills necessary to succeed in courses taught in English

What you will be able to do after the course

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• understand the main points of lectures, videos, and discussions
• read and understand study-related texts and instructions
• describe experiences, plans, and opinions clearly
• take part in discussions and basic academic communication
• write structured emails and short texts related to study
• use key grammar structures accurately at B1 level, IELTS 4.5/5.5

The course prepares students for the B1 level, IELTS 4.5/5.5 required for UJOP foundation studies.

The course includes:

• Practical grammar needed for B1, IELTS 4.5/5.5 (tenses, conditionals, modal verbs, linkers)
• Study-related and everyday vocabulary
• Listening tasks (lectures, instructions, discussions)
• Reading texts similar to foundation programme materials
• Speaking activities (guided discussions, presentations, role‑plays)
• Writing practice (emails, short texts, description)
• Focus on pronunciation and fluency

Each lesson clearly shows what language skills you are developing and how they are used in your studies.

• students of UJOP Foundation Programmes in English
• students with A2, IELTS 4.0 level English
• non‑native English speakers who need clear, structured language support
• students who want to prepare for academic study in English before the programme starts

From 7th September to 30th October 2026

Mondays to Thursdays, 5 lessons a day

9:00-10:30, 10:45-12:15 and 12:30-13:15

Online courses run on the MS Teams platform in the CET time zone. The MS Teams license is included in the course fee. You will need: PC/laptop, camera, microphone and a stable internet connection.
