ABOUT THE COURSE

Intercultural Communication Staff Training Week

Enhance Your Intercultural Competence • Build Confidence in International Communication • Experience Prague

  • Do you work with international students in an admissions office, international office, study department, summer school programme, or student support service?
  • Would you like to better understand cultural differences and develop practical communication strategies for working in international higher education?
  • Do you interact with colleagues, students, and partners from diverse cultural backgrounds and want to communicate more effectively in English?
  • Would you like to experience the welcoming atmosphere of Charles University while exploring the historical heart of Prague and Czech culture?

Intercultural Communication Staff Training Week is designed for higher education professionals who work in international environments and support students throughout their academic journey.

Through interactive workshops, case studies, discussions, cultural activities, and networking opportunities with peers from across Europe and beyond, participants will explore intercultural communication in higher education, reflect on cultural values and expectations, and develop practical strategies for working effectively with international students and colleagues.

While English is the language of instruction and communication throughout the week, the primary focus is on intercultural competence, effective communication across cultures, and understanding the challenges and opportunities of internationalisation in higher education.

Classes take place in the historic centre of Prague, allowing participants to experience Czech culture firsthand, discover local landmarks, and engage with the international community of Charles University.
