He received a s study pharmacy, but first, he had to learn Czech at the ILPS CU language courses, which ch Today Patrice is a well-known and experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist who has been prestigious Angel Award. “I didn’t know that I would become a doctor; I got a scholarship to study pharmaceuticals. language school, my teacher said I was not a bad student and could study medicine well. This happened when, during Patrice’s clinic, he was present during childbirth for the first time in his life. “At that moment, a miracle and that this is what I should choose to do,” recalls Patrice. Life in the Czech Republic was not easy for Patrice, especially during the first year, whe begun to learn Czech and did not know anyone here. It also was the first time he had to co shop by himself. But now, he is grateful for this opportunity. To date, Patrice has delivered over a thousand babies in the Czech Republic, and this year for the Angel Prize, which is awarded to healthcare professionals. “For me, this means that all people here have equal opportunities. In some countries, a fo allowed to become the head of a department or even work at a clinic,” concluded Patrice. In September, his younger sister will come to study in the Czech Republic.
