UJOP Students Compete for Best Presentation

On 14 April 2026, a presentation competition for students of preparatory programmes took place at the Krystal Centre, with 14 participants taking part this year. The event offered them the opportunity to present both academic and social topics and to practise their academic spoken Czech in front of a three-member panel and an audience of fellow students and teachers.

To ensure they were as well prepared as possible, the students attended a specialised seminar focused on presentation skills. This concentrated primarily on the structure of academic discourse, argumentation, and audience engagement. The presentation topics were broad and, in some cases, highly specialised – ranging from cloning and physiotherapy through digital literature and traditional medicine to film, visual arts, and the impact of trauma experienced in wartime conditions on physical and psychological development. Cultural topics also appeared, such as Mongolia and the Czech diaspora in Berlin.

The expert panel then selected the three best presentations and also awarded an Audience Prize.

First place went to Valeriia Povidalo for her presentation on Fast Fashion. Second place was awarded to Haneen Ahmad from Syria for her presentation The Impact of Trauma and Life in Wartime Conditions on Physical and Psychological Development. Third place went to Isac Alberts for his presentation The Czech Diaspora and Culture in Berlin. The audience was most impressed by Colours No One Could Stop by Artem Romakin and The Natural Beauty of Mongolia by Sondor Bajii.
